Americo was born April 10, 1933, in Ripi, Frosinone in Italy. He immigrated to the United States when he was 14 years old and settled in Bridgeport, Conn. with his family. He met the love of his life, Jeannine Noel at a church dance in 1953 and married her in 1955. He became a partner in Ann’s Newfield Bakery of Bridgeport soon after, and the young couple built a home and moved to Trumbull, Conn. They had six children and passed on the family business to their sons Mike and Paul when they retired in 1993.
Five years ago they moved to Middlebury to live with their son Tony and his wonderful wife Lori and grandsons Sam and Ben and family pets Molly and Mabel. They spent many happy years with them. In his later years, Americo was known to all as “Pepa.” He was the patriarch of a large “Famiglia” and this was the joy of his existence. He cherished his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, delighting in their milestones and achievements. Pepa was witty, funny, generous and loving. His memory will live on in their hearts.
