Naugatuck Historical Society (NHS) President Christopher Ritton-Stokes posted the following announcement this morning:

On Wednesday, June 19, we entered our temporary museum at 171 Church Street to find it flooded. The recent heavy rains caused a sizeable leak in the roof. We did lose some of our merchandise but nothing irreplaceable was damaged.

We are taking this opportunity to move the NHS office to the Tuttle House. Although it is sooner than we intended, it is a positive step towards the realization of the Naugatuck History Museum at the Tuttle House. Our plan is to have the Society office up and running by Labor Day 2019.

We will continue to offer our Walking Tours of Historic Downtown and all other previously planned programs.

Please call us at 203-729-9039 or email us at naugatuckhistory@att.net with any questions or concerns.
