Patrick C. Barton, 59, of Middlebury slipped into his eternal rest Monday Sept. 16, 2019, at his home. Patrick was born in Waterbury June 16, 1960, a son of the late Francis and Ruth (Farrell) Barton of Middlebury, Connecticut. Patrick was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grammar School and Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Pat is survived by his companion, Kathy Eibenstener; former wife, Nancy Brown Barton of Danbury; brother Francis L. Barton Jr. and wife Mary (Greene) of Middlebury, Connecticut; sister Theresa Prescott and husband Alan of Greenfield, Massachusetts; and brother Timothy Barton. He also leaves his uncle Thomas and Rose Barton of Bradenton, Florida; aunt Major Joanne Barton Retired U. S. Army Nurse, El Paso, Texas; aunt Florence Barton of Naugatuck, Connecticut; and aunt Sister Teresa of the Congregation of Notre Dame, Bronx, N.Y.; nephews, Francis and Sean Barton of Middlebury; Ryan and Josh McDaniel and also many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles.
Pat was known for having a way with words and being quick with a smile. Pat’s work ethic was legendary in the local paving companies he worked for over the years.
A celebration of Patrick’s life will be held Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at St. John of the Cross Church at 1263 West St. in Middlebury, Connecticut. Family and friends may visit with Patrick’s family at St. John of the Cross Church on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, between 9 and 9:45 a.m. prior to the Mass.
