At 4 p.m. Tuesday, Connecticut state officials said there were 13,989 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13. This is an increase of 608 cases over the 13,381 the day before at 11:30 a.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury increased to 18.

On Tuesday, 1,779 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, and 671 had died.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19: 13,989

Fairfield County: 6,213
Hartford County: 2,370
Litchfield County: 460
Middlesex County: 355
New Haven County: 3,543
New London County: 227
Tolland County: 201
Windham County: 87

533 cases were pending address validation.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 18, Naugatuck – 86, Oxford – 42, Southbury – 72, Woodbury – 18, Watertown – 47, Waterbury – 638.

Hospitalization numbers were: Fairfield County had 731 (+21) patients, New Haven County had 572  (-8) patients, and Hartford County had 369 (+8) patients. Other counties had 35 or fewer patients.

The groups with the largest number of cases were ages 50 – 59 (2,715 cases) followed by ages 40 – 49 (2,256 cases) and ages 60 – 69 (2,245 cases).

The report said 45,841 patients had been tested, an increase of 1,532 patients over the day before.

  • Norwalk – 773
  • Danbury – 740
  • New Haven – 726
  • Waterbury – 638
  • Hartford – 458
  • Greenwich – 328
  • West Haven – 319
