Loving husband, brother and father
Mr. Jeremiah A. “Jerry” O’Connell, 86, of Oakville, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, at Regal Care of Waterbury. He was the loving husband of Diane M. (Goudreau) O’Connell.
Jerry was born in Waterbury Jan. 17, 1934, a son of the late John and Brigdette (Courtney) O’Connell. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School class of 1952. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a heat treater at Timex Corporation and Carby Corporation until his retirement. He took great pleasure spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory, his son Mark J. O’Connell of Middlebury. He also leaves his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Donald Goudreau and his wife, Nancy, of Naugatuck and Judy Belval and her husband, George, of Oakville and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers and two sisters, Lawrence O’Connell and his wife, Betty, and John O’Connell and his wife, Marion; Mary Howland and her husband, John, and Katherine Collins and her husband, Connie; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Al and Jacklyn Cutler and Louis and Joyce Tangney.
Due to the limitations of the COVID-19 Pandemic, a private graveside service and burial was held Wednesday April 15, 2020, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. There will be a family and close friend celebration of life committal and repast at a time to be announced in the future. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
