COVID-19 Update – May 22, 2020 – 39,640 cases

On Friday, May 22, 2020, Connecticut state officials said there were 39,640 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of Thursday, May 21, at 8:30 p.m. This is an increase of 432 cases over the 39,208 on Wednesday, May 20, at 8:30 p.m.  The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury remained at 44.

On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., 740 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 76 patients, and 3,637 people had died, an increase of 55 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 44, Naugatuck – 342, Oxford – 78, Southbury – 162, Woodbury – 40, Watertown – 135, Waterbury – 1,798.
