COVID-19 Update – May 23, 2020 – 40,022 cases

On Saturday, May 23, 2020, Connecticut state officials said there were 40,022 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of Friday, May 22, at 8:30 p.m. This is an increase of 382 cases over the 39,640 on Thursday, May 21, at 8:30 p.m.  The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury increased to 45 (+1).

On Friday at 8:30 p.m., 724 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 16 patients, and 3,675 people had died, an increase of 38 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 45, Naugatuck – 345, Oxford – 77, Southbury – 163, Woodbury – 41, Watertown – 135, Waterbury – 1,810.
