On Thursday, July 9, Connecticut state officials said on Wednesday, July 8, at 8:30 p.m., there were 47,209 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 101 cases over the 47,108 on Tuesday, July 7, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 48.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 90 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 2 patients, and 4,348 people had died, an increase of 5 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 45 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 392 confirmed and 9 probable, Oxford – 79 confirmed and 3 probable, Southbury – 195 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 51 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 146 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 1,956 confirmed and 86 probable.
