COVID-19 Update – July 27, 2020 – 48,983 cases

In their first report since Friday, July 24, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Sunday, July 26, at 8:30 p.m. there were 48,983 COVID-19 cases in the state, an increase of 207 cases over the 48,776 on Thursday, July 23, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 49.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 59 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 12 patients, and 4,418 people had died, an increase of 5 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 46 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 408 confirmed and 10 probable, Oxford – 82 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 195 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 52 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 146 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 2,043 confirmed and 89 probable.
