On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, August 11, at 8:30 p.m. there were 50,706 COVID-19 cases in the state, an increase of 22 cases since Monday, August 10, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 51.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 58 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 12 patients, and the number of deaths was 4,450, an increase of 6 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 47 confirmed and 4 probable, Naugatuck – 419 confirmed and 11 probable, Oxford – 85 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 198 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 53 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 151 confirmed and 9 probable, and Waterbury – 2,105 confirmed and 91 probable.
