On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, October 6, at 8:30 p.m. there were 59,364 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 123 cases since Monday, October 5. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 61.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 138 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 9 patients, and deaths numbered 4,522, an increase of 1 death.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 55 confirmed and 6 probable, Naugatuck – 467 confirmed and 18 probable, Oxford – 92 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 218 confirmed and 6 probable, Woodbury – 65 confirmed and 2 probable, Watertown – 184 confirmed and 9 probable, and Waterbury – 2,454 confirmed and 107 probable.
