On Friday, February 5, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 259,372. This is an increase of 1,431 cases over 24 hours.

On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., 827 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 10 patients since Wednesday, and deaths numbered 7,214, an increase of 29 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 497 confirmed (+3) and 38 probable (no change), Naugatuck – 2,389 confirmed and 176 probable, Oxford – 621 confirmed and 38 probable, Southbury – 967 confirmed and 77 probable, Woodbury – 430 confirmed and 33 probable, Watertown – 1,575 confirmed and 145 probable, and Waterbury – 11,034 confirmed and 742 probable.
