- Middlebury’s rate per 100,000 is higher than that of the surrounding towns other than Waterbury (29.1) and Watertown (33). In comparison, Woodbury is at 9 cases per 100,000, Southbury is at 14.2 cases per 100,000, Oxford is at 17.3 cases per 100,000 and Naugatuck is at 26.3 cases per 100,000.
- Middlebury had 2 new confirmed cases and 1 new probable case for the three days from Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.
- Middlebury reported no new deaths from COVID-19; total deaths remain at 19.
- The cumulative number of cases (confirmed and probable) in Middlebury rose to 590 from 587 in the latest report from state health officials.
- The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 1.86%, down from 2.35% Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.
On Thursday, March 4, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 284,500. This is an increase of 1,874 cases over three days.
On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 433 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 16 patients since Sunday, and deaths numbered 7,693, an increase of 42 deaths.
Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 535 confirmed (+2) and 55 probable (+1), Naugatuck – 2,588 confirmed and 214 probable, Oxford – 695 confirmed and 46 probable, Southbury – 1,032 confirmed and 116 probable, Woodbury – 455 confirmed and 47 probable, Watertown – 1,768 confirmed and 190 probable, and Waterbury – 11,834 confirmed and 958 probable.
