On Monday, April 19, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, April 18, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 331,401. This is an increase of 3,401 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, April 18, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 2.68%, up from 2.04% Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.
On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 494 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 11 patients since Wednesday, and deaths numbered 8,014, an increase of 24 deaths.
Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 608 confirmed (+3) and 79 probable (+3), Naugatuck – 3,052 confirmed and 308 probable, Oxford – 823 confirmed and 78 probable, Southbury – 1,209 confirmed and 204 probable, Woodbury – 552 confirmed and 68 probable, Watertown – 2,125 confirmed and 275 probable, and Waterbury – 14,005 confirmed and 1,414 probable.
