Middlebury Assessor Chris Kelsey announced on Facebook last night that Vision Appraisal has almost completed its 2021 revaluation of Middlebury properties. Here is what he posted:
“Happy November. The 2021 Revaluation is almost complete and values have been mailed, please keep an eye out for them this week. We have seen an overall increase to the values of 21% for residential and 14% for commercial values giving us an overall increase of 20%. Please keep in mind this will also come with an adjustment to the mill rate once the budget is approved in the Spring. New valuation information can be viewed at www.vgsi.com.
If you have any questions or concerns about the valuation, Vision will be holding Informal hearing (sic) by phone. Information for scheduling a hearing is listed on your letter. Please ask any general questions you have here, or feel free to call the office at 203-758-1447. I will do my best to try and answer questions here, but please keep them to general questions, any questions that are specific to your property should be asked during a hearing with the revaluation company.”
This reporter went to the website and looked at the new values for her home. The assessed value has increased 31%.
