The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 2.21%, down from 6.48% on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 645 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 69 patients since Wednesday. Through Wednesday, December 8, deaths numbered 8,946, an increase of 37 deaths since December 1. Deaths are reported once a week.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 794 (+17) confirmed and 150 (+24) probable, Naugatuck – 4,093 confirmed and 726 probable, Oxford – 1,246 confirmed and 156 probable, Southbury – 1,596 confirmed and 319 probable, Woodbury – 786 confirmed and 152 probable, Watertown – 2,805 confirmed and 486 probable, and Waterbury – 18,162 confirmed and 2,592 probable.
