This is an increase of 24,627 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. was 17.09%, down from 20.27% on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 1,857 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 60 patients since Wednesday. Through Wednesday, January 12, deaths numbered 9,442, an increase of 161 deaths since January 5. Deaths are reported once a week.
