9/11 Tribute Concert – Free outdoor concert

#Middlebury #FreeConcert #September11

Enjoy a free 9/11 Tribute Concert Sunday, September 11, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Shepardson Community Center at 1172 Whittemore Road in Middlebury. The concert will feature the Rubber City Blues Band. It will be outside on the lawn, so bring your blankets or lawn chairs and some refreshments to enjoy during the concert.

Middlebury First Selectman Edward B. St. John said the event is in response to residents’ requests for a free concert. St. John said he sees it as a way to honor the memory of those we lost September 11 and to bring members of the community together again after more than two years of pandemic isolation.

The event was put together with the help of Harold Zinno Sr. of Zinno Jazz, Al Vagnini of Powerstation Events, and Parks & Rec Director Betsey Anderson. St. John noted donations are needed to cover the concert’s expenses and he hoped private donors and area businesses would step forward to cover the cost. Those wishing to donate can contact Anderson at 203-758-2520.
