Joyce Carol Zeman died on February 29, 2024. She was born on April 24, 1947, in Lexington, Kentucky. Her parents were the Rev. Charles Lanham and Mary Miller.
Joyce worked for 25 years at the Southbury Training School in Southbury, Connecticut. She was a behavior modification specialist.
Joyce was a person who lit up a room when she entered. She cherished her life as a gift from God. Joyce had a gift for making the people with whom she interacted feel loved and important. All who met her knew that they were in the presence of someone special.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Andrew Zeman of St. Augustine, Florida; her sisters, Donna Lanham, Linda Romanauskus, and Debby Cavallari; her daughter, Lynne Goulet, and her husband, William, of St. Augustine, Florida; her son, Thomas Calo, and his wife, Amy, of Biddeford, Maine; and her stepson, William Zeman, and his wife, Olgu, of St. Augustine, Florida.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alexandra Goulet; Amber Googins, and her husband, Glenn; Meghan Guay, and her husband, Tyler; Lydia Pelletier; Cameron Pelletier; and Nisan Zeman.
Calling hours are Tuesday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hickcox Funeral Home at 195 Main St. in Watertown, Connecticut. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church at 393 Tucker Hill Road in Middlebury, Connecticut. She will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery at 669 Platt Road in Watertown, Connecticut.
