CONCORD, Mass. (Aug 20, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District announced the recreation area at Hop Brook Lake closed on Monday August 19, 2024. The area is inundated from the recent rain event, which dropped more than 8 inches of rain. Facilities will remain closed until further notice to allow USACE to empty stored flood waters, perform cleanup and do maintenance checks to ensure visitors safety. Access to flooded areas will be prohibited to all visitors. There is no determined date for when the areas will open to the public at this time.

Portions of the park will reopen for public access as the pool level recedes and areas are deemed safe. For up-to date information, visitors may contact the Hop Brook Lake Project Office 203-729-8840.

Please note that it is anticipated that the swimming area at Hop Brook Lake will remain closed for the rest of the recreational season. The closure is a precautionary measure based on anticipated water quality problems due to this large flood event.
