On Monday, August 26, Region 15 Superintendent of Schools Joshua Smith sent an afternoon update on the Tuesday, August 27, school openings. It was a follow-up to bus schedule information sent on Friday. Monday’s message said:

“Late yesterday we discovered that there were some stops that were mislabeled and some homes that were not on the list of routes. Any errors are in the process of being corrected and will be available on our website at approximately 8:30 tonight. We do not think there will be substantial change to any routes but should now include all homes and addresses. If your house was not on the routes published yesterday, but other houses on the street were, the pickup and drop off times will be approximately the same. See www.region15.org/district-offices/transportation.

If you have any changes or concerns, you can email FirstStudent directly at firststudentregion15@outlook.com. This is more efficient than trying to call as several people are monitoring the email account and working to address concerns.

Over the weekend the Public Works Department was able to reopen more roads allowing us to add stops. The new routes will reflect any changes.

The FirstView Location Tracker APP is now online and updated. You will need your student ID to create an account. You will receive a separate email for each enrolled student. Please know that the FirstView tracker is routed through First Student and is slightly time delayed.

UPDATE from Supt. Smith: The FirstView APP is tied to the GPS system on our buses and will not be live until the bus runs begin tomorrow.

In any school year the first day often experiences some delays, this year we should plan for some areas to see higher traffic volumes. There will be increased police presence to support the anticipated traffic. Mindset preparation is helpful and maybe not quite the same as I imagine leaving a Taylor Swift concert, but GW Bridge traffic levels are not out of the question.

As we move through the first few days of school, traffic flow and bus routes will smooth out.”
