United Way offers disaster assistance funds

The United Way of Greater Waterbury announced it has a response fund for those impacted by the August 18-19 flooding. Its 10-town service area includes Southbury, Woodbury and Middlebury. The United Way’s joint flood response fund will provide $250 direct assistance to approved applicants (simple application) impacted by the unprecedented floods. As noted at the website, applications from all three towns are being handled through either the Southbury Food Bank or the Southbury Social Services Department.
