During September, Brenner LeCompte and Jon Dibble of Morgan Stanley are offering three financial planning workshops for families at the Woodbury Public Library:
Financial Planning for Families
Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.
The current generation is often characterized as young adults who are lazy, self-entitled and financially irresponsible. Stereotyping an entire demographic is never accurate or appropriate; however, it reflects a deeper underlying issue. People’s beliefs, values and actions are heavily influenced by those around them. It is without question that a child’s primary influence comes from those who raise him. Parents want the best for their kids, and strive to guide them to a healthy, mature, independent adulthood. Yet the common misconception of today’s youth reflects the exact opposite. Once they leave the nest, how prepared are your loved ones for “the real world”?
LeCompte and Dibble will discuss not only how to make your children money savvy, but ways to impart responsibility in all aspects of their lives. At this workshop, savings basics including good saving habits will be discussed in terms young adults can understand, and young savers will be advised on how to take control of their financial future.
